At 16, Clément Laplaud began his culinary apprenticeship at the Hostellerie de Levernois, where he discovered a true passion. He continued his studies with a specialization in pastry at Maison Lameloise in Chagny. A desire for change and new horizons led him to work in various establishments. Each restaurant he worked at provided valuable experience for his career development. These included Les Charmilles for regional dishes, Le Carthel in Toulouse for Asian fusion cuisine, Le Cantou in the Lot region for fresh and refined dishes, and L'Ibérica for fish and seafood.
La Cuiller à Pot opened its doors in 2010, a stone's throw from the Ill River and Petite France, under the direction of Grégory Reich and Pauline George. The restaurant quickly found its clientele, thanks to seasonal cuisine that showcases local produce in a simple and welcoming setting.
Clément was Grégory's second-in-command between 2015 and 2018. After years of experience traveling throughout France and honing his skills, it was only natural that, when the time came to find a successor, the former owners immediately thought of him. So, when the opportunity arose, he jumped at it. The handover went smoothly, and in March 2025, Clément took over the reins, this time as head chef, ready to take the reins and bring his own unique touch.
Under his leadership, the restaurant's cuisine remains true to its spirit: simple, respectful of seasonal and local produce. Clément emphasizes the quality of ingredients and meticulous preparation, while adding a personal touch that subtly modernizes the dishes without altering their essence. He thus continues Grégory's legacy, while bringing a fresh perspective and new energy to the establishment. La Cuiller à Pot therefore retains its soul, with a cuisine that evolves while remaining faithful to its roots, under the guidance of a passionate chef dedicated to excellence.
Mickaël arrived in 2014 and was already part of the restaurant's previous team. With his experience and knowledge of the establishment, he continues to provide impeccable service as the dining room manager and supports Clément on a daily basis, contributing to the continuity and spirit of La Cuiller à Pot. Under his supervision, Grégory, a bartender and waiter since March 2025, is gradually becoming familiar with the restaurant and its clientele.
